New Email Address!

Hey everyone I can hopefully now post again. I have a new email address and DSL!!! Apparently this upsets certain memebers of my family who don't! Mostly because they were told they CAN"T. So was I, but apparently some customer service rep didn't know and now I have it. SOOOO... I have a referral #. I was thinking if I send you a referral #, maybe that would help you get it too. Let me know if you want to try. Aunt Kathy, I am already sending it to you.

More About 2007 Family Campout

On July 14th we had a "cookbook" meeting, several things were discussed, mostly about the upcoming Campout. We had a report on the Bake Sale and plans for the Luau. The girls had to scale back their plans a bit, but there's to be a Limbo contest and leis for everyone. There will be a pond with ducks (plastic of course) to pick for prizes, etc.
Also planned for the weekend are the annual Bike Race and Fishing Contest along with something new, a Horseshoe Toss for the adults. For the Horseshoes there will be a cost of $10.00 per team (2 on each team) entered with half the entry fee going back into the family kitty and the other half being a prize for the winning team.
We've set up a Schedule of Events -- the Fishing Contest will run from Friday evening until 10 AM Sunday morning.
Saturday 12:00 Noon -- The Campout Dinner
Approximately 1:00 - 1:30 PM (immediately after dinner) The Family Portrait
2:30 PM The Bike Race
3:00 PM The Horseshoe Toss
7:00 PM The Luau begins
Sunday Approx 10:30-11:00 AM The Campout Breakfast
It will help a lot if the parents and/or grandparents can keep the kids near by after dinner so we can get the Family Picture taken quickly.
The glow necklaces have been ordered and will be available Friday and Saturday evenings at a cost of $1.00 for family members and $3.00 for strangers (if there are any leftover.)
For those who plan to camp the cost per night at Healy Lake is now $12.00.
Instead of having an auction or other fundraiser, we're accepting donations for the family kitty, which is used for various things like ordering the glow necklaces, renting the hall and buying supplies for Cookie Day and Christmas (holidays), etc.

How to Post on the Blog

When you answer your invite, you come to what is called "The Dashboard. If you want to add a writing, click on "New Post", which brings you to a box to write your article which has some formatting buttons on the top. Above that box is the title box, which I already wrote about. (See previous post.)
Some things you can do here -- check your spelling, add an image (photograph or other) and if you click the preview link you can see how it looks. When you're done previewing, just click "Hide Preview" and you're back where you started from.
If you give it a title the article stands out more, but it's not necessary. Same with the box (at the bottom to the right) for labels. You can make a label or pick one already made, to see what is available click on the link "Show All."
When you're done with your article click on the "Save Now" button (at the bottom left) and then click on the "Publish Post" button next to it. You will then have the option to "View Blog," by clicking on that link. Isn't it nice to be published?

About Using This Blog

When Linda and I were getting her signed up on the blog, we couldn't figure out how to put in a title. Well I discovered later it's rather simple.

We'd been trying to click in the title box and we weren't getting any where. I knew I'd done it, but couldn't remember what I'd done. But all you have to do is click on the word "title" and the cursor is in the box and then you can enter your title.

New Time for Cookbook Meeting

I think the time for the cookbook meeting has been moved up an hour to 11 AM. The reason being the Rockwell siblings are having a workbee at Esther's (Grandma Rockwell's) in the afternoon. Hope to see everyone at the cookbook meeting, it's the last one before campout!!

Monday, July 9, 2007

Hi there family! I want to thank Aunt Kathy for setting this up. I also want to remind everyone that there is a meeting on Saturday, July 14 @ noon @ my house. We have had lots of ideas, but for some of them we just need more people!

Come join us at Healy Lake Campground. Dinner is at Noon, bring a dish to pass and anything else you just have to have.
Some of our girls are planning a Hawaiian Luau for the kids (all ages). So we will have lots of fun.

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY BLOG

Hello to all Rockwell-Johnson family members.
I've wanted to set up this blog for some time, and yet have put it off. But as time for Family Campout draws near, I thought this may be the perfect time. This will provide a way to communicate and see what's going on, kind of like a bulletin board. Hopefully I can send "invites" to the ones I have email addresses for so they can post "articles." Even if I can't figure that out, you can add comments which will serve the purpose, which is to be able to communicate news or new developments. So if I don't have your email address, put it in a comment, please.
Hopefully this can be a help to our wild and wooly family.
